Mata ‘Eyes’ Ariki : ‘High Chief or God’ : MATARIKI

This upcoming 8 date tour is in celebration of Matariki, the Māori New Year and to showcase Rei’s latest album Ariki. Traveling through Aotearoa, from Tāmaki to Te Wai Pounamu, Rei can’t wait to share his waiata kanikani (dance music) and party with the people.

His last tour was for his award-winning album ‘The Bridge’. Always in mahi hard mode, Rei has dropped 3 new albums since then, played across the world, won 3 Māori music awards, earning millions of streams and radio hits since this tour… but nothing beats performing to your home country. Rei’s Matariki tour will start with local support acts, followed by Rei’s full high energy set, topped off with a DJ set featuring remixed te reo music.

It's time for us to say "ThankYOU". The support we as a venue and a Whānau have had throughout lock down blew us all away. This gig is to show our appreciation. The crew that will jam have donated their time. After the RSVP cut off date, all ticket sales will go to these artists.

And that is a wrap team... 2019 done and dusted. Everyone jumped up on stage yesterday and smashed it out of the park. It is not easy getting up in front of a venue full of people and putting it out there. We are so proud of all of MauaoPAC's students for a very entertaining afternoon @ TOTARA ST.

The illustrious end of term student concerts have grown into quite the spectacle over the years. From humble beginnings, the crowd is now 150 strong each show, and TOTARA ST comes alive with the hottest young talent the Bay of Plenty has on offer. Usual proceedings, but at times vary, see the centres awesome drama and theatre students take to the stage. After they have laid down their acting skills, the music academy students fly into what becomes a full blown, cohesive concert. For some students it is the first time on stage, for others, they have been there before. Performances are solid and smiles are wide!
